In collaboration with the Society for Analytic Philosophy (Gesellschaft für Analytische Philosophie e.V. (GAP)), the ontos verlag donates the

Award for furthering scientific research
in the field of analytical ontology and metaphysics

The prize will be awarded for the third time on the occasion of the 7th Congress of GAP, "Reflections and Projections - Challenges to Philosophy", on 14th of September, 2009, in Bremen.

This prize awards 2,000 Euros for outstanding achievements in the field of analytical ontology and metaphysics. Studies of at least 120 pages, which have not yet been published and are written in German or English by a German-language author or one who lives and works in a German-language country, are eligible for consideration.

The award-winning study will be published in the book series "Philosophische Analyse / Philosophical Analysis" of ontos verlag.

Wolfgang-Stegmüller-Award 2009

On the occasion of its 7th Congress "Reflections and Projections - Challenges to Philosophy", 14th of September, 2009, in Bremen, the Society for Analytic Philosophy (Gesellschaft für Analytische Philosophie e.V. (GAP)) awards for the seventh time the Wolfang-Stegmüller-Award.

The award is donated by Margret Stegmüller and it is awarded for outstanding work on the field of analytic philosophy. Eligible are works of any length (language: German or English), published or not, whose author is not older than 40 years by expiration of the proposal period, has no permanent scientific employment and is German-speaking or works in a German-speaking country.

The award is usually given to three pieces of work. It is endowed with altogether 12,000 Euros.

Frege-Award 2009

The Society for Analytic Philosophy (GAP) has decided on its general meeting in September 2006 to honour every three years a highly acclaimed German speaking philosopher with a non-endowed prize, the

for outstanding achievements in the field of analytic philosophy. The members of the society were to suggest candidates, and from these suggestions the committee selected the winner. The first Frege-Award winner is

In his honour there will be a special colloquium at GAP.7. The colloquium consists of a lecture by Wolfgang Künne himself, and two lectures about his work by invited speakers (Paul Boghossian and Kevin Mulligan).
