GAP.7
Reflections and Projections –
Challenges to Philosophy
Bremen, 14.-17.09.2009

The Seventh International Conference organized by the Society for Analytic Philosophy (GAP) will take place in Bremen (Germany), September 14-17, 2009. Co-hosted by the Department of Philosophy of the University of Bremen, the conference will provide the opportunity for contribution and debate on a wide variety of topics within analytic philosophy. The core program of GAP.7 will pivot on the current challenges to philosophy, its reaction to these challenges, and the way in which challenges to other sciences and to everyday life arise.

Apart from plenary lectures and colloquia, there will as usual be sections covering all main areas of analytic philosophy. The Society invites contributions to the sections covering all branches of Analytic Philosophy (see Call for Papers).

After the conference, two workshops will be held: "Metaphors and Explanations in the Philosophy of Mind" (organized by Albert Newen and Raphael van Riel), and "Freedom and Responsibility: Does cognitive science revolutionize morals and law?" (organized by Sven Walter). Information concerning these workshops will be announced separately by the respective organizers.

At GAP.7 the winners of the ontos-Award, the Wolfgang-Stegmüller-Award, and the Frege-Award will be presented.
